A very Happy New Year to all my readers!

For the new year, I am glad to announce the release of a new WordPress theme called “Impress”. This is a minimalistic, red-colored theme with automatic thumbnails, advertising space and a clean layout.

Thumbnails are used from the default ones that WordPress generates when you upload an image with the post. The theme uses jQuery for animated menu and sidebar. Impress has been tested with Firefox, IE, Chrome and Safari without any problems.

Setting up the Theme

This is a plug & play theme. All you have to do is extract & place the theme into your wp-content/themes folder and apply it. Btw, it only took me 3 hours to make this theme (Design + Code) 🙂

The JQuery animationsaren’t working for me either. I believe it’s because I’m using IE7 – but can’t install Chrome as I don’t have admin rights for this computer. I’d love for a fix. Thanks for the good work anyhow! 🙂

The JQuery animationsaren’t working for me. Is it a bug perhaps, or maybe I’m being stupid :-). I am viewing it in IE so maybe that’s in. Anyone else having problems?

The same happened to me. Is it a problem with the theme? Or is it not compatible with all wordpress versions?
I would really like to use this design. Hope you will reply soon. 🙂

Hey Jai, nice theme but unfortunately it dosent work on my site 🙁 I activated it and it dosent do anything, everything is blank, can’t login to the back-end either.
Is there a compatibility problem with this theme and wp 3.0?

Thanks.

same thing happen for me, when i enable that theme. then i debug it. found that the wp_pagenavi() in functions.php cause this error. i have plugin WP-PageNavi installed. and my WP version is 3.0.1.
so, either disable the plugin, or rename(or move) the wp_pagenavi() in functions.php. then site is back.
i guess it’s a re-define error for that function name. hope this help
🙂

Hi, I am a user of this template from Greece. I have a real problem. In some cases I want to remove the “Continue Reading” and in other cases to modify it. How can do that? I look for this for weeks on google and other sites.

Could anyone help me?

I would appreciate your help.

RE: Ad space. How do you place ads? Can you delete the ad boxes? Unclear how to manage this.
Love the theme, the simplicity, the colors…Thanks!

I have one problem with your theme. When I click & move to the choosen cathegory, I can’t go to the older posts which are a part of it. E.g.: Cathegory “X” has 14 posts but I can see only the newest (first 4).

I have it currently running on my site. However, the theme seems to be broken in places. Not only does the animation not work, but also the comments template seems to be broken somewhere; the alternating colors called for in the css do not correspond to what is generated, making the comments hard to read. I have tried to alter this, but it doesn’t seem to be working. Also, for some unknown reason, the theme author chose to make the comment boxes too small, which causes the “Leave a comment / sign in” area to slip up to the top of the comment string. I had to widen the comment boxes in order to make that float down to the bottom of the comment list.

It’s an attractive and clean looking theme. It would be much more effective if the author took the extra time to clean up some of the bugs in it.

Beautiful theme! I was playing around with it on my site, and I noticed that the JQuery animations are not working on my site like they do in your demo. I am viewing it in the latest IE. Any ideas?
