I love this theme, but am very frustrated with the company.
I have been attempting to find out more about this template for about 5 days now and other than an email asking me a question, I’ve heard nothing. I immediately replied with the specifics of my question (even though it was in my initial email) about 3 days ago, but have not heard anything back from them. Are they always this unreceptive to support?
Can someone point me to a different theme provider who has this type of theme who can actually answer emails? I’m new at this and am frustrated beyond belief.

I am having trouble with images appearing on the homepage of the website. Is there a plugin specifically that needs to be added in order to fix it? It appears that it’s only a problem on the slideshow and images on the stories on top of it (images in posts). The images appear fine when I add them within the news stories themselves, though.
You will have to contact your hosting provider and tell them to enable or unblock the automatic thumbnail generation script that is used in the theme. Usually hosts block the auto thumb scripts. The script is called thumbs.php in the theme folder. It also needs permissions to create and access the cache folder in the theme.
Hi, theme is really nice and functional. Just bought it and very happy with it. Two things: How can i add a logo on the header – don’t want to use the blog name or description. Secondly i noticed all the tiles are in capital letters, how can i change this? Kindly help, thanks Ahmed

Hi,
For the home page to work properly, please make sure that you configure all the categories under Big News Options -> Home Page Layout. The categories should have at least one post under them. For the slideshow category, make sure that you have at least two posts with images.
After the above step,
For the menu, you will need to go to Appearance -> Menus and construct a menu and assign it to both the primary and secondary menu placeholders.

quick question. I’m trying to add a custom (duplicate of .box class) to the homepage. I call it .nbox
But sadly the cufon isn’t rendering on the title. Is there some file where I need to tell to convert the .nbox h2 to cufon?
Open the file called custom.js from the JS folder. At the bottom, you will see the cufon commands to render different styles. Just add your own 🙂
I just purchased this theme and on the home page I see a “Catchable fatal error: Object of class WP_Error could not be converted to string in col3-box1.php”
Please advise.
P.S: My category name & slug have been made similar (based on of the earlier comments) doesn’t help much.

I’m extremely happy about the new color versatility, many of the themes I’ve dabbled in do have the ability to change the background color but seldom have I come across the ability to change link colors.
Changing link colors seems to increase the readability of my blog because it’s not so interruptive. Keep up the good work!

It is NOT that the Home Page Boxes take after the Categories – it is more complex than that… The Home Page Boxes appear to take after the name of the Slug – PRIOR to it being saved! Yup.
If you don’t make the name of the slug the same as the category then the Home Page boxes won’t work – at least for me.
If I have a category “Fine Wines” and the Slug is “Wines” then nothing in the Home Page Boxes populate if a Box expects to see the “Fine Wines” category. However if you then go back and edit the Slug to say “Fine wines” and save, then WP condenses the slug to “fine-wines and LO & BEHOLD “Fine Wines” then appear in the Home Page Boxes…
Please explain why this is so – cost me hours and hours to figger out…

Hi?I bought it and i like this theme very much, but I encountered some problem when I use it in my blog, I found that it can not display well in IE7 and IE6, There are two screenshots in my blog named “Big news problem”. Could you help me?
Nothing displays well in IE7 and especially IE6 – it is their nature. To see the web as she is supposed to be seen you must ALWAYS use Firefox. Always!
Coders have a hard enough time making a Template work and to spend tons of Extra time making it work for IE6 and IE7 pushes the price up to $120.00!!
You must go to IE8 or, a better choice, IE9 Beta on Win7 – then you start to see… right now you just can’t possibly come close to seeing…
IE is improving though. So people need to stop using older versions of IE.
As a coder that’s what we’d all like!
Try making that argument in the “suit-and-tie-9-to-5” corporate world who have invested billions into edi and inventory re-ordering systems – all under IE6. Then you have an uphill battle.
Long ago I made a coding decision NOT to waste my hours coding for IE6 – life’s too short, I’m too old and most corporations don’t deserve to live anyway!

Is there a quick fix to make this work? This is the first time I’ve had this problem … menu drop downs will not work, post titles do show on the front page under categories, images do not display in the feed on the bottom. I’m trying to replace a template with this one, which is so gorgeous. I’ve disabled virtually every plugin and there are still problems. In my frustration after staying up all night long trying to make this work, I bought another template elsewhere and it works just fine, including menus. I’d love to be able to use this theme instead but can’t find any documentation.
I would like to move the carousel to under the news ticker. Is this possible?

I have some problem when I run the theme in IE 6 and IE 7. The ticket bar can’t dispay well, and the widget colum is out of shape. In Firefox it works well. I pasted two screenshots in my blog article named “Big news problem”. Any ideas?

Yes. You will need to have categories (with posts in them) and then define them on the home page layout in the theme options.
Also, read other instructions under appearance -> big news options.

Can’t get one of my categories to show up on the home page. All the others show up fine, and I have been sure to call it up as the exact title of the category. Any ideas?
I love the theme! Just downloaded it.. wonder if there is any way to make the 468×60 banner a 728×90 banner?
You can try editing the header.php file and replace the image with a 728×90 one. But I guess then you will have to remove the date, search and login links from the right.
